Add a Santa hat to your photo

Drop in a photo and the tool finds your head and sets a Santa hat on it, sized to fit. Drag the hat, resize or tilt it, then download a Christmas profile picture: square for social media, or round for your email signature. A New Year party hat and a Thanksgiving turkey are here too. Free, with no sign-up.

Free, no sign-up. Your photo is read once to find your head, then thrown away; the picture is drawn in your browser.

How to add a Santa hat to a photo

About a minute, from your photo to a picture you can use anywhere.

  1. Choose a photo, or drop it on the tool. A headshot, facing the camera, works best.
  2. The tool finds your head and sets the hat on it, sized to your head. If it can't find one, the hat waits in the middle for you to drag it.
  3. Drag the hat to move it, and use Size and Tilt until it sits right. Drag the photo itself, or zoom, to frame it.
  4. Download the square picture for a profile, or the round one for an email signature.

A Christmas profile picture for every app

One square picture, 1080 by 1080 pixels, works everywhere.

How each download is meant to be used.

Square1080 x 1080, the whole squareProfile pictures: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp, Slack, Teams
Round1080 x 1080, clear outside the circleThe photo in an email signature, or anywhere a round picture should stay round

Most apps show a profile picture as a circle cut from the middle of the square, so turn on Show as a circle before you download and keep the hat inside it. Change it back after the holidays by uploading your usual picture again.

A Santa hat in your email signature

A round picture stays round in every email app.

Classic Outlook ignores rounded corners set in code, so a round photo made that way shows as a square there. The round download is round in the picture itself, with a clear background, so it looks the same everywhere. Keep it small: Gmail’s help suggests signature pictures about 100 pixels high (Gmail Help), and the image size tool makes a copy at exactly the size you want.

In esigna’s editor, a Christmas Season does this for you: Cozy knit sets the same Santa hat on the photo in your signature and knits the art around it, and Twinkle and Silent night dress it their own way.

A hat for each holiday

The same tool, for Thanksgiving and the new year too.

The Santa hat is red with a fur brim and a pom-pom that flops to the side. The party hat is a midnight cone with gold foil stripes and a burst of tinsel, for New Year. The turkey hat is a whole roast turkey, drumsticks up, for Thanksgiving. Each is drawn by esigna, and the picture you make is yours to use anywhere.

FAQ

Questions

How do I put a Santa hat on my photo?

Drop your photo on the tool, or choose one. It finds your head and puts the hat on it. Drag the hat to move it, use Size and Tilt to fit it, and download the picture.

Is my photo uploaded?

Only to find your head. A smaller copy of your photo goes to esigna's server, where the model that sets hats on photos in esigna's Seasons reads it, and it is thrown away at once: nothing is kept. The hat and the picture you download are drawn in your browser.

What size is the picture?

1080 by 1080 pixels, as a PNG: more than any social network shows a profile picture at, so it stays sharp wherever you use it. Most show it as a circle, so turn on Show as a circle to check nothing important is cut off.

Can I use it as the photo in my email signature?

Yes. Download the round version: it has a clear background around the circle, so it is round in every email app, including classic Outlook, which ignores rounded corners set with code. Add it as the photo in your signature, or in esigna's free Editor.

Why is there extra room above my head?

Most headshots are cut off at the hair, leaving no room for a hat. The tool reaches a little above the photo and fills that strip with the photo's own colours, softened, so the hat fits. Zoom in or drag the photo down if you would rather not have it.

Can I dress my whole email signature for Christmas?

Yes, with a Christmas Season in esigna's free Editor: art that moves above and below your signature, and Cozy knit sets the same Santa hat on the photo in it. The Christmas Seasons page shows each one, and what copying one costs.
