Christmas email signature

Turn on a Christmas Season and the email signature you already have dresses for Christmas: lights twinkle along the top, snow falls over a village or a sweater's knit frames it, and your photo can wear a Santa hat. Try it free on any template, then copy it into Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail with the Signature plan.

Free to try, with no account. Copy it with the Signature plan, $9 once (launch price until October 31, then $19).

Twinkle on Meridian. Lights that twinkle and a gold greeting.

Three Christmas Seasons

Each one dresses the signature you already have. Your layout, details and links stay exactly as they are.

  • Twinkle

A string of retro bulbs twinkles along the top, and a gold Merry Christmas in script sparkles under your details.

A round photo becomes a glass bauble with a gold cap. Any other shape is wrapped in a satin ribbon tied in a bow, clear of your face.

  • Silent night

A snowy village under the moon sits under your details, snow falling, with Merry Christmas and AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Snow falls over your photo, whatever its shape.

  • Cozy knit

Christmas sweater bands above and below, knit with trees, snowflakes and reindeer. No words, so it suits anyone you write to.

A round photo wears a Santa hat, set on your head wherever you stand in the picture. Any other shape gets a knitted frame.

The accent colour and the dividers take the holiday’s colours too, and come back as they were when you turn the Season off.

When to add a Christmas email signature

Christmas Day is Friday, December 25, in 2026, and most people dress their signature for most of December.

Silent night says Happy New Year too, so it can stay on until you are back after New Year's Day, around January 4. Otherwise switch to a New Year Season on December 26: your details stay as they are.

Gmail and Outlook keep more than one signature, so you can save the Christmas one beside your usual one and switch back with a click. The guides show how to change your signature in Outlook and in Gmail.

How to add it to your email

A minute or two, in the free Editor.

  1. Open a template in the free Editor, or the signature you already made with esigna, and fill in your details.
  2. In Design, turn on a Christmas Season. Your photo is dressed while you watch.
  3. Copy it with the Signature plan and paste it into your email app. Every Season is pictures and text only, so it pastes like any signature.

Step by step for each app: Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.

Christmas email signature lines

One short line under your details is enough. Copy one, or start from one.

Christmas

  • Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  • Wishing you a merry Christmas from the Northwind team.
  • Season's greetings and warm wishes for the new year.

Away over Christmas

  • Our office is closed from December 24 to January 1. We'll reply when we're back.
  • I'm away until January 4, with limited access to email.

FAQ

Christmas signatures

When should I add a Christmas email signature?

Early December, and take it off the day after Christmas, when a New Year Season can take over. Silent night says Happy New Year too, so it can stay on until you are back after New Year's Day, around January 4 in 2027. If you close for the holidays, add the dates you are away on one line under your details.

Merry Christmas or Happy holidays?

Twinkle and Silent night say Merry Christmas, which is warmest with people you know celebrate it. Cozy knit has no words at all, so it suits anyone. For a Happy holidays greeting, the free holiday banner maker writes any words you like.

Will the animation play in Gmail and Outlook?

Yes in Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook on the web, the new Outlook and the Outlook and Gmail phone apps. Older versions of Outlook for Windows show only the first frame of a GIF, so every Season's first frame is a finished picture: it still looks dressed, just still.

Does it work with my template?

Yes. A Season dresses every template at every size. Your layout, details and links stay exactly as they are; only the accent, the dividers, the art above and below and your photo change.

Can I turn it off after the holiday?

Yes. Turn the Season off in the Editor and your signature is back as it was, colours and photo included. Copy it again and paste it over the holiday one, or keep both saved in your email app and switch back.

Is it free?

Trying is free, with no account: turn a Season on in the gallery or the Editor and see it on your own signature. Copying a signature in a Season takes the Signature plan, a one-time purchase that also copies the Pro Templates. Without it, the free holiday banner maker puts a greeting under any signature.

What happens to my photo?

To set a hat on your head, esigna finds where your head is in your photo on its server. The preview you see is drawn and sent straight back, kept nowhere. When you copy, the dressed photo is kept online with your account, so your email can show it.
