The 11 best free email signature generators in 2026, tested

We made the same signature in 11 free generators on October 25, 2026, and wrote down where each one asked for an account, what it added under the signature and what it charges to take that away. Four let us copy a finished signature with no account and nothing of theirs under it: esigna, Mail-Signatures.com, Si.gnatu.re and HubSpot, once you fill in its form and switch off its link. Canva and Blinq make a picture of your signature instead of text, and Gimmio, SignatureForEmail, Newoldstamp, MySignature and WiseStamp put their name under it until you pay (Gimmio also takes a review or a share instead).

Each tool tried on October 25, 2026.

We make esigna, so it’s on this list, and we put it first. Every tool here, ours included, was tried the same way on the same day, and each entry says who should pick something else. Nobody paid to be on the list, and we earn nothing if you sign up for another tool.

How we tested

On October 25, 2026 we opened each generator in a fresh browser with no account and made the same signature: Alex Rivera, Designer, alex@example.com. Where we could, we also copied the finished signature and read what came out, because a few add things the preview doesn’t show. Where it asked us to sign up, we stopped and wrote down the step it asked at.

Prices are the ones each tool shows on its own pages that day. We didn’t use review sites or other lists. Each screenshot is from the test, with Alex Rivera’s details in it, or the last page the tool showed before it asked for an account.

The 11 generators

01esignaOurs

Best for your own signature, free, with no account to make and nothing added under it.

esigna’s Editor with Alex Rivera’s details in the Meridian Template
esigna on October 25, 2026: the Meridian Template with the test details, ready to copy.

You pick one of 29 free Templates, type your details and add your photo and logo as files from your computer. The preview shows the signature in an inbox, in dark mode, on a phone and in Outlook for Windows. Then you copy it and paste it into Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail, with a guide for each, or scan a code to put it on your iPhone. There’s no form to fill in and no account, and nothing is added under your signature.

On the test, Alex Rivera’s signature was ready to copy as soon as the details were typed, and it stayed saved in that browser. A free account keeps two signatures. The Signature plan, $9 once (launch price until October 31, then $19), adds the Pro Templates, the holiday Seasons and up to 25 saved signatures.

What’s free

  • 29 Templates, with your photo, logo and social icons
  • Copying it as often as you like, with guides for Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail
  • Two saved signatures with a free account

Watch for

  • Without an account, the signature is saved in that browser only
  • The 3 Pro Templates and the holiday Seasons need the Signature plan
  • No company tools: each person pastes their own signature
Price
Free. The Signature plan is $9 once (launch price until October 31, then $19), with no subscription.
Not a fit if
you look after a whole company’s signatures and want them installed for everyone from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

02HubSpot

Best for a plain HTML signature from a name you know, if you don’t mind HubSpot having your phone number.

HubSpot’s email signature generator with Alex Rivera’s details and its Create Your Own Free Signature link in the preview
HubSpot on October 25, 2026: the details step, with its link still on in the preview.

HubSpot’s generator needs no account, and every part of it is free. You fill in your details, pick one of 12 templates and choose your colors and font. Before it shows the copy buttons, a form asks for your phone number, company name and website, all three required, and HubSpot says it will contact you about its products.

Its signatures carry a “Create Your Own Free Signature” link by default. A “Created With HubSpot” switch on the first step takes it off, and the link left the preview when we did. Photos and logos go in as links to images you’ve put online somewhere else. There’s no upload, and HubSpot warns that Google Drive links may not show.

What’s free

  • 12 templates, colors and fonts
  • Buttons for booking a meeting, a newsletter or your own link
  • Copy as formatted text or as HTML, with guides for Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Yahoo Mail

Watch for

  • The form for your phone, company and website before you can copy
  • The HubSpot link stays on until you switch it off
  • Images by link only
Price
Free. There’s no paid plan for the generator.
Not a fit if
you’d rather not hand over a phone number, or you want to upload your photo from your computer.

03Mail-Signatures.com

Best for a wide choice of free designs, if you can host your own images.

The Mail-Signatures.com generator with Alex Rivera’s details and the signature preview
Mail-Signatures.com on October 25, 2026: the details form and the preview.

CodeTwo, which sells signature software to companies, runs this generator for free, with no paid plan. You choose your email app, pick from 121 templates, fill in your details and copy the result. We copied ours without an account, and there was nothing from CodeTwo in it.

There’s no upload. Your photo, logo and banner go in as links to images you host yourself, and the template’s icons load from CodeTwo’s servers. CodeTwo moved those servers in January 2026, and signatures made before the move showed broken icons until they were made again or fixed by hand. Your details are gone when you refresh the page, unless you tick Remember my details, which keeps them in that browser.

What’s free

  • 121 templates, a banner, a disclaimer and up to 6 social icons
  • Copy for Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail, or HTML for Thunderbird and Exchange
  • Install steps once you apply it

Watch for

  • Images by link only
  • The social links come filled in with sample profiles, so clear them
  • No support, by CodeTwo’s own FAQ
Price
Free. CodeTwo’s software for companies is a separate subscription, priced per user.
Not a fit if
you have nowhere to put your photo and logo online.

04Si.gnatu.re

Best for a clean signature with a logo or a selfie, made once.

The Si.gnatu.re editor with Alex Rivera’s details and the preview
Si.gnatu.re on October 25, 2026: the contact step and the preview.

Si.gnatu.re opens an editor at a link of its own, with no account. You add your details, upload a logo, take a selfie or add a banner, then choose from 68 social networks and 4 layouts. At the end you copy the signature, copy its HTML or download it. The copied signature had nothing from Si.gnatu.re in it.

You can edit a free signature for 30 days through its link, so keep the link. After that it’s locked, though it keeps working in your email. Editing again costs $5, once. Free logos are kept small, which its help center says can look fuzzy on Apple screens, and the editor shows an ad.

What’s free

  • Logo, selfie and banner uploads
  • 68 social networks and 4 layouts
  • Copy it, copy the HTML or download it

Watch for

  • Editing stops after 30 days
  • Lose the link and you lose the editing
  • An ad on the editor
Price
Free. $5 once to edit forever, or $35 once for 10 signatures.
Not a fit if
your job title or phone number changes often and you want to keep editing.

05Gimmio

Best for a photo signature with a polished layout, if a small credit line doesn’t bother you.

Gimmio’s generator with Alex Rivera’s details, a test photo and Get your own signature under the preview
Gimmio on October 25, 2026: the details step, with “Get your own signature” under the preview.

Gimmio lets you make one signature without an account. You pick from 58 layouts, upload a photo and crop it, then copy the result or open its HTML. It also checks the signature’s size against Gmail’s limit.

Free signatures end with a small “Get your own signature” link to Gimmio. The editor offers three ways to take it off: pay, leave a review, or like or share Gimmio. Paying starts at $7 once, which also opens the premium layouts for 7 days. We didn’t try the review or the share. After a reload our signature was gone from the list, so editing later needs an account.

What’s free

  • One signature, from 58 layouts
  • Photo upload with cropping
  • Copy, HTML and install guides for a long list of email apps

Watch for

  • The “Get your own signature” link
  • Nothing is kept once you leave
  • The 7 day free trial takes a card and charges it when it ends
Price
Free with its link. $7 once, or $4 a month or $28 a year for one signature.
Not a fit if
you want nothing of the tool’s under your signature and won’t pay to remove it.

06SignatureForEmail

Best for lots of layout control, if you plan to pay a few dollars a year.

SignatureForEmail’s editor with Alex Rivera’s details and the preview
SignatureForEmail on October 25, 2026: the editor and the preview, which doesn’t show the line the copy adds. The photo is the site’s sample.

The editor is on SignatureForEmail’s home page, and it copied our signature with no account. It has 15 templates, a picker for your email app and an install guide for each.

The preview and the copy weren’t the same. The copied signature ended with a “Made with SigForEmail.com” link that the preview didn’t show. Buttons, banners and other starred features show in the preview and are left out of the free copy, as the site’s own tooltips say. Uploading a photo asks you to sign up, so free users paste a link to an image instead.

What’s free

  • 15 templates and social icons
  • Copy or download, adjusted for your email app
  • Install guides for Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and more

Watch for

  • The “Made with SigForEmail.com” link, missing from the preview
  • Starred features left out of the free copy
  • No saving, so a free signature can’t be edited later
Price
Free with its link. Personal is $5 a month or $30 a year.
Not a fit if
you want what you paste to match what the preview showed.

07Newoldstamp

Best for template variety, if you’ll pay $9 to drop its line.

Newoldstamp’s generator with Alex Rivera’s details, its branding line and a Remove our branding button
Newoldstamp on October 25, 2026: the preview with its line and the button that removes it. The photo is the site’s sample.

Newoldstamp’s generator opens without an account, with 38 templates, photo upload and a big gallery of social icons. Its free signatures carry a “Create your own email signature” line with its logo, and a button in the editor removes it for $9.

There’s no copy button at the end. Save and Install asks for your email address and company size so it can email you the install steps. Its terms also say that without a plan you can make one signature but not use it in your emails, which doesn’t fit with a free generator. We couldn’t tell which one holds.

What’s free

  • 38 templates
  • Photo upload and a large set of social icons

Watch for

  • Its line under your signature, $9 to remove
  • Install steps come by email, after you give your address
  • Its terms say a signature without a plan can’t be used in email
Price
Free with its line, or $9 to remove it. Plans from $54 a year for one signature.

08MySignature

Best for a polished editor, if you’re happy to make an account.

MySignature’s editor in free mode with Alex Rivera’s details and its Create your own Signature line
MySignature on October 25, 2026: the editor after Reset to free. The photo is the template’s sample.

MySignature’s editor opens without an account after five setup questions. Many of its templates turn on paid features by default, and Reset to free takes them off. Saving or copying asks you to make an account, and its FAQ says the same.

The free version shows its logo and “Create your own Signature” under your details. Its templates page says free signatures also carry branded links and a redirect through MySignature. You get one signature per email address.

What’s free

  • One signature per email address
  • Its templates and editor, with the paid features switched off

Watch for

  • An account to save or copy
  • Its line, branded links and a redirect through MySignature

09WiseStamp

Best for companies that want to pay for signatures managed in one place.

WiseStamp’s generator with Alex Rivera’s details and the signature preview, before sign up
WiseStamp on October 25, 2026: the editor before Get my signature asks you to sign up.

WiseStamp’s editor opens without an account, with 5 layouts and room for a photo, a logo and social links. Get my signature takes you to sign up.

Its help center describes a free plan of one signature in the standard template, with “Create your own email signature with WiseStamp” under it, for personal webmail like Gmail or Outlook.com only. Copy and paste is for paid plans, so free users install through its Chrome extension or another of its tools. The same help center lists Free among plans no longer sold, and the pricing page offers a 14 day trial instead, so the free plan may be gone when you look.

What’s free

  • One signature in the standard template, by its help center
  • Installing it through its Chrome extension or apps

Watch for

  • An account before you get your signature
  • Its line on free signatures and during the trial

10Canva

Best for a designed, graphic signature, if you already use Canva.

A Canva email signature template page with its Customize free template button
Canva on October 25, 2026: a template page, the last step before it asks you to sign up.

Canva asks you to sign up before you can edit anything, though the account is free. You start from one of its email signature templates, add your photo or logo and change the design as much as you like. Your design stays in your account to edit later.

Canva gives you a picture: it says to download the signature as a high resolution image and add it to your email app. There’s no copy button and no HTML. In a picture nobody can select your phone number or email address, and the links in it can’t be clicked one by one. Pro elements in a free design come out with a watermark.

What’s free

  • Free email signature templates
  • Photo and logo uploads
  • Saved in your account to edit later

Watch for

  • An account first
  • An image signature, with no text to select and no separate links
  • Watermarks on Pro elements unless you pay
Price
Free. Pro is $15 a month or $120 a year.
Not a fit if
you want people to tap your phone number or click your links.

11Blinq

Best for people who already use Blinq’s digital business cards.

Blinq’s signature builder with Alex Rivera’s details and the All Done button
Blinq on October 25, 2026: the builder, the last step before it asks you to sign up.

Blinq lets you build the signature without an account, with your details, two images, your links and a banner. All Done asks you to sign up before you can copy it.

The signature is one image that links to a Blinq profile page, and Blinq says HTML signatures come with its Business plans. Its help center says it doesn’t work in the Gmail or Outlook phone apps, and that deleting it stops the image loading in emails you’ve already sent. The other side of that is that your edits show up in sent emails too.

What’s free

  • A personal email signature on the free plan
  • Two images, links, a banner and a disclaimer

Watch for

  • An account before you can copy
  • An image that links to a Blinq page
  • No support for the Gmail and Outlook phone apps
Price
Free. Premium is $7.33 a month, billed yearly.
Not a fit if
you want a text signature that works in every email app.

A generator or signature software?

Everything on this list makes one signature that you paste into your own email app. That suits your own signature, and a small team where each person pastes their own. If you look after a company’s signatures and want them installed and kept up to date for everyone from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you want signature software, sold per person per month. WiseStamp sells both, and so does CodeTwo, which runs Mail-Signatures.com.

esigna sits in between. With the Signature plan, Team links send one design to your team, and each person adds their own details and pastes it in.

Check these before you send it

Whichever tool you use, a few minutes of checking keeps a broken signature away from your clients.

  1. Send yourself an email and open it on your phone. Long lines should wrap, and the photo shouldn’t stretch.
  2. Look at the bottom for anything the tool added, like a credit line or a link, even if the preview didn’t show one.
  3. If you host your images yourself, open their links in a private window. They have to load for someone who isn’t signed in.
  4. Turn on dark mode in your email app. A black logo on a see through background can disappear.
  5. Tap your phone number and email address. They should start a call and a new email.

Our guides for Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail show where to paste it in each.

FAQ

Questions

What’s the best free email signature generator?

For your own signature, pick one that needs no account and adds nothing under it. On our test that was esigna, Mail-Signatures.com and Si.gnatu.re, and HubSpot once you fill in its form and switch off its link. esigna is ours, so weigh that. If you need a whole company’s signatures managed for you, look at signature software like WiseStamp instead.

Which free email signature generators need no sign up?

On October 25, 2026, esigna, HubSpot, Mail-Signatures.com, Si.gnatu.re, Gimmio and SignatureForEmail let us copy a signature without an account. HubSpot asks for your phone, company and website first, and Gimmio and SignatureForEmail add their own link. Canva, MySignature, WiseStamp and Blinq ask you to sign up before you can copy, and Newoldstamp emails you the install steps.

Do free email signature generators add their own branding?

Some do. Gimmio, SignatureForEmail, Newoldstamp, MySignature and WiseStamp put their own line or link under free signatures, and HubSpot does until you switch it off. esigna, Mail-Signatures.com and Si.gnatu.re add nothing. Paste your signature into an email to yourself and check, since SignatureForEmail’s line only showed up once we copied it.

How much does it cost to remove a generator’s branding?

On our test, Gimmio asked $7 once and Newoldstamp $9. SignatureForEmail’s cheapest plan without its line is $30 a year, MySignature’s is $6 a month billed yearly and WiseStamp’s is $9 a month billed yearly. HubSpot’s switch is free.

Is HubSpot’s email signature generator free?

Yes. It has no paid plan and needs no account. It does ask for your phone number, company and website before it shows the copy buttons, and its link stays on until you switch off Created With HubSpot.

Can I use a Canva email signature in Gmail?

Yes, as a picture. Canva has you download the signature as an image and add it in Gmail’s signature settings. The text in it can’t be selected and its links can’t be clicked one by one, so it helps to add your phone number and email address as text under it.
