Happy New Year email signature
Turn on a New Year Season and the email signature you already have dresses for the new year: fireworks burst over a skyline, confetti and streamers swing along the top, or two champagne flutes clink in gold art deco, and your photo can wear a party hat. Try it free on any template, then copy it with the Signature plan.
Free to try, with no account. Copy it with the Signature plan, $9 once (launch price until October 31, then $19).
Three New Year Seasons
Each one dresses the signature you already have. Your layout, details and links stay exactly as they are.
Midnight
Fireworks burst over a city skyline under your details, a clock tower at five to twelve, with Happy New Year in script and WISHING YOU A BRIGHT YEAR.
Gold glitter falls down the sides of your photo, whatever its shape.
Confetti
Gold and midnight streamers swing along the top with confetti tumbling from them, and a gold Happy New Year in script sits under your details.
A round photo wears a party hat, set on your head. Any other shape gets confetti falling down its sides.
Champagne
A gold art deco frieze runs along the top with a shine passing along it, and below, two flutes clink in a midnight panel, bubbles rising, with CHEERS TO THE NEW YEAR.
A round photo gets a gold deco ring with a fan on top. Any other shape gets gold deco corners.
The accent colour and the dividers take the holiday’s colours too, and come back as they were when you turn the Season off.
When to add a New Year email signature
New Year's Day is Friday, January 1, in 2027. Dress your signature from the day after Christmas.
| Occasion | Put it on | Take it off |
|---|---|---|
| New Year's Day, January 1 | December 26, after Christmas | The end of the first week, around January 8 |
| The office closed over New Year | Before you close | The day you open again |
No New Year Season draws a year, only Happy New Year or Cheers to the new year, so the same one is ready again next December.
Gmail and Outlook keep more than one signature, so you can save the New Year one beside your usual one and switch back with a click. The guides show how to change your signature in Outlook and in Gmail.
How to add it to your email
A minute or two, in the free Editor.
- Open a template in the free Editor, or the signature you already made with esigna, and fill in your details.
- In Design, turn on a New Year Season. Your photo is dressed while you watch.
- Copy it with the Signature plan and paste it into your email app. Every Season is pictures and text only, so it pastes like any signature.
Step by step for each app: Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.
New Year email signature lines
One short line under your details is enough. Copy one, or start from one.
New Year
- Happy New Year from all of us at Northwind.
- Wishing you a bright year ahead.
- Here's to a great year working together.
Away over New Year
- Our office is closed December 31 and January 1. We'll reply on January 4.
- I'm back on January 4, with limited access to email until then.
Want it free?
A still banner for your signature, and a hat for your profile picture.
The holiday banner maker puts your own greeting on a classic painting, sized to go under any signature in Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail. It is free, with no account, and nothing leaves your browser.
For your profile picture, the free Santa hat tool sets a New Year party hat on your own photo, the same one Confetti puts on a round photo in your signature.
What it costs
Free to try on your own signature, with no account. You pay once to copy it.
- Every Season copies with the Signature plan, $9 once (launch price until October 31, then $19), with no subscription. It is yours for every holiday after this one too.
- The plan also copies the Pro Templates and keeps up to 25 saved signatures.
FAQ
New Year signatures
When should I add a New Year email signature?
From the day after Christmas until the end of the first week of January. If you wore a Christmas Season, switch to a New Year one on December 26; your details stay exactly as they are.
Does it say the year?
No. Midnight and Confetti say Happy New Year and Champagne says Cheers to the new year, so nothing goes out of date and you can wear the same one next year. If you want the year, put it in a line under your details.
Will the animation play in Gmail and Outlook?
Yes in Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook on the web, the new Outlook and the Outlook and Gmail phone apps. Older versions of Outlook for Windows show only the first frame of a GIF, so every Season's first frame is a finished picture: it still looks dressed, just still.
Does it work with my template?
Yes. A Season dresses every template at every size. Your layout, details and links stay exactly as they are; only the accent, the dividers, the art above and below and your photo change.
Can I turn it off after the holiday?
Yes. Turn the Season off in the Editor and your signature is back as it was, colours and photo included. Copy it again and paste it over the holiday one, or keep both saved in your email app and switch back.
Is it free?
Trying is free, with no account: turn a Season on in the gallery or the Editor and see it on your own signature. Copying a signature in a Season takes the Signature plan, a one-time purchase that also copies the Pro Templates. Without it, the free holiday banner maker puts a greeting under any signature.
What happens to my photo?
To set a hat on your head, esigna finds where your head is in your photo on its server. The preview you see is drawn and sent straight back, kept nowhere. When you copy, the dressed photo is kept online with your account, so your email can show it.
